Week 6 Challenge

With everything going on the world, we all need a moment to pause and reconnect all the pieces; we need to reconnect with our mind, our body, and reconnect with our loved ones and our community.

Reconnect.

This mindfulness exercise combines the technique of mental body scans in tune with your breath and a mindfulness exercise that allows us to identity:

  • What you’re feeling – I feel…
  • Why you’re feeling – I feel… because…
  • What you want to feel – I want to feel…
  • What you need from yourself to feel this way – I need…
  • We will start in a comfortable position, seated or lying down. With your eyes closed, mentally scan your body using your breath. Imagine your breath traveling through every part of your body starting with your head and down to your toes. Use your breath to inhale calmness, relaxation, light and clarity, and use your exhales to bring any stress, tension, uncertainty, and darkness through and away. In these mindfulness exercises we just let the emotions, the feelings, the thoughts, and sensations flow through our bodies; we don’t fight, we don’t resist, we don’t judge. We simply feel and whatever does not serve us, we breath it through, let it flow through, and send it on it’s way with well wishes in a breath.

    No matter what, let your breath ground you to reconnect with yourself and with your loved ones. In this world, we’re human and to be human means we feel, but there’s one thing that we don’t have to feel and that is alone.
